Unlocking The Potential of San Pelagio Port With Digital Twin Technology (ROV, UAV)

Problem: Increasing efficiency in the context of asset maintenance
Goal: Precisely and down to the smallest detail, it was necessary to record the entire area with automatically navigated divers (ROV) and collect images from the field of high quality and resolution
Result: A virtual model that faithfully replicates a port
Equipment: ROV, internally developed carbon rod with a pair of cameras and a dual INU unit that also supports RTK positioning

This is a project of the Rovinj Port Authority that has attracted a lot of attention from the international public in a short time, and which is designed to make it easier and better to manage the port and monitor its condition over time.

This digital win is designed to make port management and maintenance more efficient, and to provide a comprehensive view of the port’s condition over time.

The digital twin is a complete replica of the port, with every detail accurately captured, both on land and underwater.

To create this model, auto-navigators or remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) were used to capture high-quality images of the entire port area.

The collected data was then used to create a 3D view of the port, with the sea being removed from the surroundings during the creation process to allow inspection of the building structure below.
