A 3D-printed model of the most important architectural achievement of the 15th and 16th centuries on Croatian soil — a model that allows visitors to see all changes that took place throughout 105 years
Our contribution to this appealing exhibition consisted of three 3D-printed models created by scanning the structure with drones (precise flights in the interior and around the exterior), which show the stages of the construction of this architectural masterpiece, as well as a 360-degree video with a special meaning for the centre’s visitors.
‘Civitas sacra’ is an integrated project to improve Šibenik’s tourist attractions on the basis of an assessment of the cultural heritage of the Cathedral of St. Jacob and Galbiani Palace. Aside from the fact that the Cathedral of St. Jacob is valuable heritage protected by UNESCO, this project’s value lies in the fact that it is being run by the Diocese of Šibenik, representing the Catholic Church’s first large infrastructure project in Croatia.
As the ‘Civitas sacra’ interpretative centre is located within Galbiani Palace—an exceptionally valuable structure that has been designated as protected cultural heritage by the Croatian government—the design team endeavoured to respect the current state and appearance of the interior to the greatest possible extent when designing the permanent exhibition. The exhibition is marked by multimedia and IT solutions that give it additional appeal and interactivity.
